Strange quantum experiment shows “negative time” is more than an illusion

Photons traveling through a cloud of atoms can emerge so early that they appear to have spent a negative amount of time inside. Researchers tested whether this was merely a misleading feature of the light pulse by making extremely weak measurements of the atoms. Surprisingly, the atoms confirmed the same negative dwell time. The finding does not break standard physics, but it reveals that one of quantum mechanics’ strangest effects is physically measurable.

When Vibe Hacking Turns AI into the Junior Hacker Every Adversary Always Wanted

The cybersecurity industry has spent decades assuming that offensive capability scales with technical expertise. That assumption is starting to break. Security teams have long estimated risk by ranking attacker sophistication. Nation-state actors sat at one end. Organized criminal groups followed. Inexperienced attackers, dismissed as "script kiddies," sat at the other end, running public

Google Deletes 3 ADK AI Workflows After Malicious GitHub Issue Could Trigger Privileged Agent

Google deleted three AI agent workflows from its Agent Development Kit (ADK) Python repository. Pillar Security showed that a public GitHub issue could manipulate a triage agent into triggering a privileged code-fixing agent. The researchers said the public agent could be prompt-injected into posting /adk-issue-fix as adk-bot. They identified the bot as a collaborator, so that comment satisfied

China threatens retaliation after US restricts imports of new foreign-made humanoid robots

China has threatened to retaliate against new US restrictions on foreign-produced humanoid robots, warning that the measures will damage economic and trade relations between the world’s two largest economies. The response comes after the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices, including humanoids and quadrupeds, to its Covered List, preventing new models […]

China’s first-of-its-kind boring and blasting rig boosts hard-rock tunnel digging by 30%

China has developed the world’s first boring-and-blasting machine, a new class of equipment designed to meet the challenges of tunnelling through complex geologies, as the country pushes forward with its infrastructure expansion. Co-developed by Tsinghua University and a unit of state-owned China Railway Group, the “Xianglong” – with a diameter of 4.5 metres – rolled off the line in Wuhan, capital of central Hubei province. The hybrid machine is smaller than conventional tunnel boring equipment.

New cPanel Critical Flaw Could Let Hosting Customers Run SQL as Database Root

cPanel has patched a flaw that let an authenticated hosting customer execute SQL in the database's root context, crossing the privilege boundary between a cPanel account and the server's administrative database identity. It shipped in a targeted security release that closes two other routes past account boundaries. The database bug is tracked as CVE-2026-58048 (CVSS 4.0 score: 9.4) and affects

Has a Chinese physical AI start-up manipulated a global ranking to beat Nvidia?

A Chinese physical AI start-up’s brief claim to global dominance in robotics has run into controversy, underscoring the intense US-China competition to develop next-generation artificial intelligence and the challenges of evaluating autonomous systems. In June, Spirit AI, a Hangzhou, Zhejiang province-based firm founded in 2024, briefly overtook United States tech giant Nvidia to take the top spot on RoboArena – a global benchmark for physical AI – with its new Spirit v1.6 model, launched at the
