IEEE ICIEA 2021-Europe proposals for special sessions within the technical scope of the conference. Special sessions supplement the regular program of the conference and provide a sample of the state-of-the-art research in both academia and industry in special, novel, challenging, and emerging topics.

Special-session proposals should be submitted by the prospective organizer(s) who will commit to promoting and handling the review process of their special session as Chairs or Co-Chairs of the event.

Special Session I
Machine Learning and Industrial Engineering

Machine Learning (ML) has recently emerged as a prospective area of investigation for several aspects of Industrial Engineering (IE). This special session aims at gathering together experts in such areas, to give an overview of the state-of-the-art of the field. Papers and presentations about innovative research on machine learning both addressing IE problems directly, or supporting traditional approaches, are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Decision Analysis and Methods

  • Decision Support Systems
  • Information Processing and Engineering
  • Intelligent Manufactoring Systems
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Mathematical Programming
  • Operations Research Applications
  • Production Planning and Control
  • Quality Control and Management
  • Reliability and Maintenance Engineering
  • Safety, Security and Risk Management
  • Scheduling Problems

Special Session II
Modern Digital Methods for Complete Machinery Design

For participation in special section papers of the following themes are invited

  • Automated design Systems usage in machines design
  • Lyfecycle-oriented design of machines
  • Optimal design of machines of different usage
  • Improvement of existing machines and products by means of mathematical modeling
