This multinational and multidisciplinary meeting is a distinct opportunity for professionals from various fields to share their knowledge and collaborate on cutting-edge research in paediatric haemato-oncology. It builds on the extensive experience accumulated in all types of disease entities by various tumour research groups within Europe. SIOPE aims to establish a platform that will improve cross-entity interaction and enhance the impact of modern insights in biology, pharmacology and genetics. By introducing a pioneering type of mentoring and training for young doctors and fellows in the field, sustainable career resources will be built up. This unique event will include novel session formats, interactive workshops and forums in order to empower clinical trial groups to debate and disseminate the outcomes of the high quality clinical and basic research carried out in Europe. Since scientific research takes place in silos, there is a need to bridge these worlds by bringing together the whole spectrum of scientists, thinkers and key opinion leaders interested in addressing the main challenges faced in this field. An innovative focus will be on direct interaction between tumour and clinical trial groups, parent groups, and survivors. The programme will dedicate the middle of the week (1 day) to best practice and educational sessions.
