The International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEC 2025), hosted by the Ghana Navy is scheduled to take place from 8th–9th July 2025 at Burma Hall, Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters, Accra, Ghana.
The International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (IMDEC) is the largest defence exhibition and conference for the African continent. In its fourth year, IMDEC 2025 plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of naval defence strategies and capabilities for the African region whilst addressing the region’s evolving maritime threats - including piracy, illegal fishing, smuggling, and transnational crime.
Set against the backdrop of the Gulf of Guinea, one of the world’s most critical maritime security hotspots, IMDEC 2025 will convene African and top military leadership, ministries, national security agencies and key stakeholders to engage in high-level discussions, strategic partnerships and capability-building initiatives.
Key Objectives of IMDEC 2025
⚓ Facilitate high-level dialogue among African navies, coast guards, defense ministries, and international allies to enhance collaboration, intelligence-sharing, and coordinated responses to maritime security threats in Africa, particularly in the Gulf of Guinea.
⚓ Provide a premier platform for global defense suppliers to showcase latest advancements in naval warfare, surveillance systems, unmanned maritime assets, cybersecurity, and fleet modernization tailored to the security challenges of African waters.
⚓ Develop actionable strategies to combat piracy, illegal fishing, smuggling, human trafficking, and other transnational maritime crimes through enhanced law enforcement, technological innovation, and regional security frameworks.
⚓ Bridge the gap between government agencies, defense industry leaders, and security service providers to drive investment, capacity-building initiatives, and innovative solutions that strengthen Africa’s maritime security landscape.
