28th Offshore China (Shenzhen) Convention 2026 (OC2026) gathered senior representatives from leading global oil operators including CNOOC, Petronas, Petrobras, Eni, Equinor, Bumi Armada, PT Medco E&P, Myanmar Oil & Gas Enterprise and Timor-Leste national oil firm, alongside full-spectrum offshore industry players. Keynotes and panel discussions covered offshore exploration & production, deepwater engineering, subsea production systems, FPSO/FLNG solutions, offshore drilling & completion, deep-sea wind power, smart construction and digital transformation.

Day 1: Global Strategic Outlook & Cross-Regional Best Practices

Industry executives delivered forward-looking insights on global offshore energy trends:

CNOOC specialists shared experience in digital transformation across upstream operations and deepwater project development in the South China Sea; PETRONAS representatives outlined Malaysia’s digital roadmap for upstream assets. Eni presented CCUS deployment and low-carbon energy transition frameworks; Myanmar’s former senior oil executive analyzed emerging deepwater exploration opportunities in Myanmar waters. Leaders from energy engineering enterprises discussed cross-industry collaboration models and sustainable FPSO development strategies.

Day 2: Parallel Themed Forums Focus on Tech Innovation & Low-Carbon Facilities

Multiple concurrent sessions delved into cutting-edge engineering solutions and integrated energy development:

  • Subsea Systems & Deepwater Development

Speakers shared breakthroughs in ultra-deep seabed resource exploitation, subsea system engineering practices and integrated exploration-production project optimization for offshore basins.

  • FPSO & Smart Construction Innovation

Discussions centered on decarbonization, modular integration and cost-efficient construction of floating production assets. Industry leaders covered FLNG technology evolution, LNG containment system testing, floating facility lifecycle decarbonization and infrastructure reuse to shorten project delivery timelines.

  • Deep-Sea Wind Power & Oil-Gas Integrated Development

A high-profile panel brought together energy institutes, engineering contractors and vessel developers to review full-cycle offshore wind solutions: marine zoning policies, hybrid oil-wind asset development, floating platform designs, large-capacity turbine installation and specialized service vessel development.

A clear industry consensus emerged: offshore energy competition now extends beyond standalone equipment or vessel manufacturing. The core competitive edge lies in integrated project management, end-to-end engineering integration, technical verification, coordinated supply chains and long-term asset operation & maintenance capabilities.

Highlight: On-site Procurement Matchmaking Sessions

Running throughout both days of the conference, the dedicated procurement matchmaking sessions stood out as a core highlight of OC2026. NOCs, IOCs and major international EPC contractors and shipyard operators arrived with concrete project briefs to hold direct one-on-one negotiations with regional offshore equipment and service suppliers.

China’s offshore manufacturing sector has evolved into an indispensable global industrial powerhouse with comprehensive, mature supply chain capabilities. This dedicated matchmaking platform eliminates information gaps between demand and supply sides, facilitates direct alignment on project specifications, and creates tangible long-term collaboration pipelines for cross-border industrial partnerships.

OC2026’s success relied on the active participation of all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates. Frontline technical and market exchanges translated industry dialogues into tangible business connections and cross-party cooperation opportunities.

Looking ahead, the Offshore Energy & Equipment Global 2026(https://www.oeeglobal.com/en/index) ——OEEG2026 is scheduled for November 16-17 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Building on the Shenzhen event, the Shanghai edition will expand scale and deepen cross-industry matchmaking, uniting international oil majors, EPC contractors, shipyards, module manufacturers, equipment vendors and technical service providers.

OEEG will keep building a high-efficiency platform for global offshore energy resource linkage, project matchmaking, supply chain alignment and ecosystem development. We look forward to welcoming all industry partners in Shanghai this November! For full event details, please contact our organizing committee Rita at ritaw@cdmc.org.cn.
