Terms of Service

Industry Events Worldwide Pty Ltd

These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your access to and use of the Industry Events website, platform, dashboard, event listing services, organiser tools, press release services, paid promotion services, email and newsletter promotion, content publication services, and any related services we provide.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Industry Events Worldwide Pty Ltd, registered in New South Wales, Australia, trading as Industry Events (Industry Events, we, us or our).

By accessing or using Industry Events, creating an account, submitting an event, creating an organiser profile, submitting a press release, purchasing a paid service, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Industry Events.

1. Who these Terms apply to

These Terms apply to all users of Industry Events, including:

  • website visitors
  • account holders
  • event organisers
  • business professionals
  • speakers
  • sponsors
  • exhibitors
  • advertisers
  • venues
  • media partners
  • newsletter subscribers
  • users submitting event listings
  • users submitting press releases
  • users creating organiser or company profiles
  • anyone purchasing or using our paid services

If you use Industry Events on behalf of a company, organisation or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, you and your refer to both you personally and that entity.

2. Our services

Industry Events is a global B2B event discovery, listing and promotion platform. We help event organisers, companies and industry professionals publish, promote and discover conferences, exhibitions, summits, webinars, trade shows, business events and related industry activities.

Our services may include:

  • free event listings
  • Event Pro / premium event listings
  • press release publication and distribution
  • Premium Event Organizer / organiser profile services
  • branded organiser or company profiles
  • event listing dashboards
  • event promotion tools
  • newsletter and promotional email exposure
  • event analytics and reporting
  • speaker, sponsor, venue and agenda modules
  • search engine visibility features
  • media and press distribution services
  • customer support
  • future tools, packages, features or services

We may change, suspend, discontinue, rename, repackage, remove or modify any service, feature, package, product, price or platform function at any time.

For existing paid orders, we will use reasonable efforts to provide the purchased service or a reasonably similar alternative where practical, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

3. Industry Events is not an event organiser or ticket seller

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, Industry Events is not the organiser, host, promoter, ticket seller, booking agent, travel provider, venue operator, sponsor, exhibitor or representative of any event listed on the platform.

We do not currently provide event ticketing services through Industry Events.

Any event registration, ticket purchase, refund, attendance arrangement, travel booking, sponsorship arrangement, exhibitor arrangement, speaker arrangement, venue arrangement, contract or dispute is between you and the relevant third party.

Industry Events is not responsible for:

  • ticket sales
  • event registration
  • event refunds
  • event cancellations
  • event postponements
  • event changes
  • attendance disputes
  • venue issues
  • travel or accommodation losses
  • organiser conduct
  • sponsor, speaker, exhibitor or attendee conduct
  • any transaction between users and third parties

You must independently verify all event details before registering, attending, sponsoring, exhibiting, booking travel, making payments or relying on any event information.

4. Accounts

Some services require you to create an account.

You may create or access an account using email, Google login or LinkedIn login.

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your login details secure
  • all activity under your account
  • ensuring your email address and contact information are accurate and up to date
  • promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

We may contact you by email about your account, submitted events, press releases, organiser profiles, payments, receipts, service updates, legal notices, support matters and other service-related matters.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your account or access if we believe that:

  • you have breached these Terms
  • your content creates legal, reputational, technical, security or operational risk
  • your account is being misused
  • your activity appears fraudulent, abusive, unlawful or suspicious
  • payment fails or is disputed
  • your conduct may harm Industry Events, users, partners or third parties
  • we are required or permitted to do so by law

We may take these actions without giving detailed reasons, especially where giving reasons may create legal, safety, moderation, security or business risk.

6. Payments

Paid services are purchased directly through the website using Stripe or another payment provider we may use in the future.

By purchasing a paid service, you authorise the payment provider to charge the applicable fees.

Industry Events does not store full credit card numbers or complete card details on its own systems. Payment information is handled by the payment provider.

Your use of Stripe or any other payment provider is subject to that provider's own terms, privacy policy and security practices.

You are responsible for ensuring that payment details are accurate and that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.

7. Refunds and cancellations

Payments are non-refundable once:

  • the service has started
  • the event listing or organiser profile has been published
  • the press release has been submitted for publication or distribution
  • promotional work has commenced
  • the service has otherwise been delivered or partly delivered

Industry Events may, at its discretion, offer a refund, credit, correction, re-performance or alternative remedy where:

  • required by Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law
  • we are at fault
  • the service has not commenced
  • we determine that a remedy is appropriate in the circumstances

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot legally be excluded.

Change-of-mind refunds are not guaranteed.

8. Event Pro and premium event listings

Event Pro and premium event listings may provide enhanced event display, earlier publication, additional modules, improved presentation, analytics, newsletter exposure, featured placement, search engine visibility features or other promotional benefits, depending on the package purchased.

Unless expressly confirmed by us in writing, Industry Events does not guarantee:

  • a specific number of views
  • a specific number of clicks
  • a specific number of enquiries
  • a specific number of registrations
  • ticket sales
  • sponsorship outcomes
  • media coverage
  • business outcomes
  • search engine ranking
  • homepage placement
  • newsletter inclusion
  • a particular display position
  • a particular level of visibility
  • any return on investment

Featured placement, priority placement, newsletter exposure, homepage visibility, search visibility, platform ranking and promotional placement are subject to editorial, technical, timing, availability, quality, relevance and platform considerations.

We may edit, reject, suspend, remove, downgrade, reclassify or refuse publication of any event listing if we consider it inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, inappropriate, poor quality, spam-like, unsuitable, risky or inconsistent with the purpose of Industry Events.

9. Premium Event Organizer / organiser profiles

Premium Event Organizer services may include organiser or company profiles, branded microsites, enhanced visibility, included Event Pro submissions, included press releases, verified badges, profile tools, priority placement or other features depending on the package purchased.

Unless expressly confirmed by us in writing, Industry Events does not guarantee:

  • continuous or permanent placement
  • search engine ranking
  • specific traffic volumes
  • enquiries
  • registrations
  • commercial leads
  • sponsorship opportunities
  • sales
  • media attention
  • business outcomes
  • a particular display position
  • continued availability of any specific feature

We may edit, reject, suspend, remove, modify or refuse any organiser profile if we consider it inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, inappropriate, poor quality, spam-like, unsuitable, risky or inconsistent with the purpose of Industry Events.

10. Press release publication and distribution

Industry Events may offer press release publication and distribution services for events, services, products, companies, announcements or other approved content.

Press release services may involve publication or distribution through external media outlets, publishers, online news sites, journalist databases, newsroom platforms, search engines, partner networks, social media platforms or other third-party distribution channels.

You acknowledge that Industry Events does not control third-party media outlets, publishers, journalists, search engines, social media platforms, archives or external websites.

Unless expressly confirmed by us in writing, Industry Events does not guarantee:

  • publication by any specific media outlet
  • publication on any specific website
  • inclusion in Google News or any search engine
  • ranking in Google or any search engine
  • number of views
  • number of clicks
  • number of enquiries
  • number of leads
  • number of registrations
  • sales
  • media pickups
  • journalist interest
  • social media engagement
  • how long third-party sites keep content online
  • removal from third-party websites after distribution

Once a press release is submitted, published or distributed externally, removal from third-party websites, media outlets, databases, archives, search engines, partner platforms or external distribution networks may not be possible and is not guaranteed.

We may edit, reject, delay, remove, refuse or stop distribution of any press release that we consider inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, promotional spam, poor quality, offensive, risky, unsuitable or inappropriate for media publication.

11. Your content and responsibility

You are fully responsible for all content you submit, upload, provide, approve or publish through Industry Events. This includes:

  • event listings
  • event names and descriptions
  • organiser profiles
  • company profiles
  • press releases
  • speaker names, biographies and photos
  • sponsor and exhibitor details
  • venue details
  • logos
  • images
  • videos
  • links
  • claims
  • statistics
  • quotes
  • testimonials
  • registration links
  • promotional text
  • third-party personal information
  • any other information you provide

You are 100% responsible and liable for the accuracy, legality, truthfulness and completeness of your content.

You represent and warrant that your content:

  • is accurate, truthful and not misleading or deceptive
  • is lawful
  • does not defame any person or organisation
  • does not infringe intellectual property rights
  • does not breach privacy, confidentiality or publicity rights
  • does not contain false or unsupported claims
  • does not contain unlawful advertising or misleading statements
  • does not impersonate any person or organisation
  • does not contain malware, spam, scams or harmful content
  • does not breach these Terms or any applicable law

Industry Events is not responsible for checking, verifying or validating all submitted content. We may review, edit or moderate content, but we are not required to do so.

You remain responsible even if Industry Events formats, edits, publishes, promotes, distributes or assists with your content.

12. Rights, permissions and consents

You must ensure that you have all rights, licences, permissions, releases and consents required to submit, publish, distribute and promote your content. This includes permissions for:

  • speaker names, photos, biographies and session details
  • sponsor, exhibitor and partner names and logos
  • venue names, images and details
  • company names and logos
  • trademarks and brand assets
  • copyrighted images, videos, documents and text
  • quotes and testimonials
  • press release content
  • website links and registration links
  • third-party personal information

You must not submit content that you do not have the right to use.

If a third party makes a complaint, claim, takedown demand or legal demand relating to your content, you are responsible for that issue and any resulting loss, cost, damage or liability.

13. Licence to use your content

You retain ownership of your content.

However, by submitting, uploading, providing or approving content for use on Industry Events, you grant Industry Events a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable and sublicensable licence to use that content for the purpose of operating, providing, improving, promoting, publishing, distributing, syndicating, archiving, marketing and evidencing our services.

This licence allows us to:

  • publish your content
  • display your content
  • format and edit your content
  • reproduce your content
  • distribute your content
  • syndicate your content
  • email your content
  • promote your content
  • advertise your content
  • share your content with media outlets
  • share your content on social media
  • include your content in newsletters
  • index or allow indexing of your content
  • archive your content
  • create promotional materials using your content
  • use your content in analytics, reporting and service records

For content that has been published, distributed, syndicated, archived, indexed or shared externally, this licence is irrevocable to the extent necessary to allow continued publication, distribution, indexing, archiving, evidence of service delivery, legal compliance and third-party use already commenced.

You acknowledge that externally distributed content may continue to exist online even after your account is closed or your content is removed from Industry Events.

14. Editing and moderation

Industry Events may make minor edits to submitted content for:

  • spelling
  • grammar
  • formatting
  • layout
  • image sizing
  • readability
  • SEO
  • categorisation
  • tagging
  • platform consistency
  • promotional presentation
  • technical display
  • user experience

We may also change event categories, tags, locations, industries, images, titles, summaries, display placement or related metadata where we consider it useful for platform quality, SEO, user experience, moderation or service delivery.

We will use reasonable efforts not to materially change the core meaning of your submitted content unless you approve the change or we consider the change necessary for legal, quality, editorial, moderation, technical or platform reasons.

15. Public availability and search indexing

Industry Events is a public event discovery and promotion platform.

You acknowledge that event listings, organiser profiles, speaker details, sponsor details, venue details, images, logos, links and press release content may be:

  • publicly visible worldwide
  • indexed by search engines
  • shared through newsletters
  • shared on social media
  • distributed to media outlets
  • syndicated through partner channels
  • republished by third parties
  • cached or archived
  • copied by search engines, AI systems, media services or external platforms

Industry Events cannot guarantee that publicly available or externally distributed content can be fully removed from the internet.

16. Customer names, logos and promotional use

Unless you ask us not to, Industry Events may use your customer name, company name, organiser name, event name, logo and publicly submitted content to identify you as a customer, organiser, event provider or user of Industry Events.

This may include use in:

  • the Industry Events platform
  • event pages
  • organiser profiles
  • customer lists
  • case studies
  • promotional materials
  • newsletters
  • social media
  • sales materials
  • presentations
  • website pages

You can ask us to stop using your name or logo for promotional purposes by contacting us at ie-contact@industryevents.com. This does not require us to remove already published event listings, organiser profiles, press releases, archived content, externally distributed content or records needed for business or legal purposes.

17. Prohibited content

You must not submit, upload, publish, promote or distribute content that is:

  • false, misleading, deceptive or inaccurate
  • defamatory or harmful to reputation
  • unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive
  • spam, scams, phishing, malware or abusive content
  • offensive, discriminatory, hateful, obscene or harassing
  • infringing intellectual property rights
  • breaching privacy, confidentiality or publicity rights
  • impersonating another person or organisation
  • promoting illegal products, services or activities
  • misleading in relation to financial, investment, medical or health claims
  • likely to damage the reputation, goodwill or trust of Industry Events
  • unsuitable for a professional B2B event platform

We may remove or refuse content without providing detailed reasons.

18. Restricted and high-risk categories

You must not use Industry Events to publish or promote events, organisations, products, services, press releases or content connected with restricted or high-risk categories, including:

  • illegal activities
  • weapons
  • illicit drugs
  • adult sexual services
  • gambling
  • scams
  • hate or extremist content
  • counterfeit goods
  • misleading financial claims
  • misleading medical or health claims
  • unsafe, unlawful or highly regulated products or services
  • any other category we consider unsuitable or high risk

We may decide, in our sole discretion, whether content is unsuitable or high risk.

19. Platform misuse

You must not:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest, extract or bulk download data from Industry Events
  • use bots, scripts, automation or data mining tools without written permission
  • reverse engineer, copy, clone, frame, mirror or reproduce the platform
  • interfere with or overload our systems
  • bypass security or access controls
  • attempt unauthorised access
  • upload malware or harmful code
  • use Industry Events to send spam or unlawful communications
  • use the platform in a way that damages, disables or impairs our services
  • commercially exploit our database, directory, website, platform design, software, content, branding or services without written permission

20. Industry Events intellectual property

Industry Events owns or licenses all rights in the platform, website design, database, software, branding, trademarks, logos, layout, systems, technology, original content, service materials and related intellectual property, except for content submitted by users or third parties.

You must not copy, reproduce, resell, frame, mirror, clone, distribute, scrape, commercially exploit or create derivative works from Industry Events or its content without our written permission.

You may link to Industry Events pages in a fair and lawful way, provided you do not suggest endorsement, partnership, sponsorship or affiliation unless we have approved it in writing.

21. Third-party websites and services

Industry Events may contain links to third-party websites and services, including:

  • event organiser websites
  • registration pages
  • ticketing platforms
  • payment processors
  • venue websites
  • sponsor or exhibitor websites
  • social media platforms
  • media outlets
  • search engines
  • external articles
  • partner websites

Industry Events is not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, terms, privacy practices, security, availability, accuracy or conduct.

Your use of third-party websites and services is at your own risk.

22. No verification or endorsement

Industry Events does not verify or endorse events, organisers, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, venues, press releases, claims, links, offers, products, services or third-party content published on or through the platform.

Content may be submitted by third parties, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, legality, reliability or suitability.

You rely on event listings, organiser profiles, press releases, links, offers and third-party information at your own risk.

You should independently verify information before registering, attending, purchasing, sponsoring, exhibiting, relying on claims, contacting third parties or making business decisions.

23. Availability and changes to the platform

We aim to provide a reliable platform, but we do not guarantee that Industry Events will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free or free from technical issues.

We may update, maintain, suspend, restrict or discontinue all or part of the platform at any time.

We are not liable for delays, outages, data loss, display errors, email delivery issues, search engine indexing delays, media distribution delays, analytics errors, third-party platform failures or matters outside our reasonable control.

24. Removal requests

You may request removal of your event listing, organiser profile or account by contacting us.

We may remove content from Industry Events where reasonable and practical.

However, we are not required to remove, and may be unable to remove, content that:

  • has already been distributed externally
  • has been published by third-party websites
  • has been indexed by search engines
  • has been cached or archived
  • has been republished by third parties
  • is required for legal, tax, accounting, compliance, dispute, fraud prevention, security or business record purposes
  • is needed to evidence services provided

Removal from third-party websites, media outlets, databases, archives, search engines or partner platforms is not guaranteed.

25. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information.

By using Industry Events, you acknowledge that we may handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You must not submit personal information about another person unless you have the right and consent to do so.

26. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

Where we are permitted to limit our liability for breach of a consumer guarantee or statutory guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option and to the maximum extent permitted by law, to:

  • supplying the services again; or
  • paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

This clause applies despite any other clause in these Terms.

27. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Industry Events provides the platform and services on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not promise that:

  • the platform will meet your expectations
  • services will generate specific results
  • paid services will deliver a particular commercial outcome
  • event listings will generate registrations or sales
  • press releases will generate media coverage
  • organiser profiles will generate leads
  • search engines will index or rank your content
  • third-party media outlets will publish your content
  • analytics will be complete or error-free
  • the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • third-party links, websites or services will be accurate, secure or available

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, representations and guarantees not expressly stated in these Terms, except those that cannot be excluded by law.

28. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Industry Events is not liable for any indirect, special, consequential, incidental, punitive or economic loss or damage, including:

  • lost profits
  • lost revenue
  • lost business
  • lost opportunity
  • lost data
  • reputational damage
  • loss of goodwill
  • business interruption
  • failed event outcomes
  • lack of registrations
  • lack of ticket sales
  • lack of media coverage
  • lack of press release pickup
  • lack of search engine ranking
  • third-party actions or omissions
  • event cancellations or postponements
  • travel or accommodation losses
  • disputes between users and third parties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Industry Events' total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a paid service is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service that gave rise to the claim.

If no amount was paid for the relevant service, our total aggregate liability is limited to AUD $100, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

29. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Industry Events, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, partners and representatives from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses, including legal fees, arising from or connected with:

  • your breach of these Terms
  • your use or misuse of Industry Events
  • your event listing
  • your organiser profile
  • your press release
  • your submitted content
  • false, misleading or inaccurate content
  • defamatory content
  • intellectual property infringement
  • privacy or confidentiality breaches
  • unlawful advertising or promotional claims
  • third-party takedown demands
  • regulatory complaints
  • payment disputes
  • your breach of any law
  • your breach of another person's rights
  • any event, product, service, claim or promotion submitted by you

This indemnity applies even if Industry Events edited, formatted, published, promoted or distributed your content, provided the claim arises from your content, instructions, approvals, breach, conduct or legal responsibility.

30. Termination

You may stop using Industry Events at any time.

We may suspend, restrict, remove or terminate your access to Industry Events at any time if we consider it necessary or appropriate, including where you breach these Terms or create legal, reputational, security, technical, operational or commercial risk.

Termination does not affect:

  • rights and obligations accrued before termination
  • payment obligations
  • content licences already granted
  • published or distributed content
  • indemnities
  • liability limitations
  • dispute provisions
  • clauses intended to survive termination

31. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The updated Terms will be posted on our website with the updated "Last updated" date.

If we make material changes, we may take reasonable steps to notify users, such as by website notice, account notice or email.

Your continued use of Industry Events after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using Industry Events.

32. Notices

We may give you notices by:

  • email to the address connected with your account
  • posting a notice on the platform
  • displaying a notice in your account
  • any other method permitted by law

33. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

Before commencing formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at ie-contact@industryevents.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute, unless urgent legal relief is required.

34. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not mean we waive that right or provision.

These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, agency or franchise relationship between you and Industry Events.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.

We may assign, transfer or novate our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a sale, merger, restructure, asset transfer or business transaction.
